Ready Aiders Foundation
is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering youth, supporting children with disabilities, and providing opportunities for women and girls. Through our therapy programs, ICT centers, and educational initiatives, we focus on fostering independence and skill development.
The Inspiring Journey of Ready Aiders Foundation
In 2014, a group of passionate student leaders at Dagoretti High School came together with a simple yet powerful mission: to support underprivileged classmates who struggled to afford basic school supplies, pocket money, and transportation. This heartwarming initiative blossomed into the Ready Aiders Foundation, a beacon of hope fuelled by compassion and community spirit.
As a school club, Ready Aiders cultivated an environment of kindness and support, transforming the culture of the school. With their efforts, incidents of theft, indiscipline, and depression plummeted as every student felt valued and cared for, regardless of their financial background. The club’s ethos of friendship and giving laid a strong foundation for what was to come.
After graduation, the founders, led by the visionary Kenneth Apopa, realized their mission could extend beyond school walls and into the broader community. They redefined Ready Aiders’ focus to empower individuals with disabilities and to provide the youth with digital skills, aiming to create lasting change in their lives.
On May 12, 2015, Ready Aiders officially registered as a society under Kenya’s Societies Act. This was just the beginning. By September 22, 2020, the organization was elevated to a non-governmental organization (NGO) by the NGO Board of Kenya, marking a significant milestone in its journey.
Today, Ready Aiders Foundation stands as a testament to the power of compassion and community. It continues to inspire, uplift, and transform lives, demonstrating that together, we can build a brighter future for all. Headquartered in the Mathare slums of Nairobi, Kenya, the foundation boasts an ICT Centre dedicated to empowering young people, a digital library fostering learning, and a therapy centre providing essential support for children with disabilities. Ready Aiders Foundation raises awareness through impactful events like Mr. and Miss Autism Kenya, engages the public through social media campaigns, and shares powerful community stories via Ready Aiders TV on YouTube.
